Glenbrook South musicians will help kick off the 2014 Chi-Town Jazz Festival with a night of refreshments and jazz at Quarles & Brady Conference Center in Chicago on Thursday, January 23.
The free event, running from 6 to 8 p.m., is expected to attract new and previous sponsors and supporters as well as current and new volunteers. We will unveil the line up for every night of the March festival and will feature Gary Z’s Jazz Combo playing with Festival Founder/Director John Moulder. Gary Z’s Jazz Combo consists of GBS students, Gary Zucker on drums, Jimmy Friedman on bass, Gracie Sands on guitar, and Matt Baeckelandt on saxophone.
Representatives of the charities receiving money raised by the Festival, Care for Real and Catholic Charities, will also be on hand to talk about how the Chi-Town Jazz Festival helps them provide their greatly needed services to feed the hungry in the Chicago area. As a bonus, there will be a photography exhibit with prints for sale of past Festivals.
The Kick Off event is open to all interested parties. Click here to RSVP. Thanks!
